Privacy policy
Last updated September 6, 2026
This policy explains what GutterBudder collects, why, who touches it, and how to get it removed. It is written in plain language on purpose. If anything here is unclear, email jordan@wediorknot.com and a person will answer.
Who we are
GutterBudder (“we”) provides gutter quoting and sales-presentation software at gutterbudder.com to gutter contractors (“customers”). Customers’ reps use the app to quote homeowners. We are the controller of data about website visitors and customer accounts. For the homeowner information a contractor enters into the app, the contractor is the controller and we process it on their behalf.
Website visitors
When you browse the public site we collect the pages you view, the referring page, your country (derived by our hosting provider from your IP address), your browser type, and a hashed form of your IP address that we cannot reverse. We use Vercel Web Analytics and our own page-view log for this. We do not run advertising trackers and we do not sell visitor data.
If you submit the demo or contact form we store your name, work email, company, team size, anything you write in the message, the page you sent it from, and the campaign parameters (UTM tags) and referrer that brought you to the site. We use this to reply to you and to understand which channels bring contractors to us. We keep demo requests for as long as we are in conversation with you and for up to 24 months afterwards.
The site stores a small amount of data in your browser (local storage) to remember which page first brought you here and, in the app, to keep you signed in and remember your last screen. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings.
Contractor accounts
To use the app, a customer’s admin and reps create accounts with a display name, email address and password, plus an optional PIN used to lock the app on a shared device. We store the quotes, sketches, price settings, commission settings, branding, job statuses, sold amounts, saved addresses and mileage entries that the company and its reps create. Account data is scoped to the company that created it; reps in one company cannot see another company’s data.
If a rep connects a Google account for calendar features, we store the tokens needed to read that calendar and nothing else from the Google account. The rep can disconnect it in settings at any time.
Homeowner information entered by contractors
Reps enter homeowner names, phone numbers and property addresses, and upload photos of the property, to build a quote. That data belongs to the contractor. We use it only to provide the service to that contractor: pricing the job, generating the sketch, the inspection report and the before/after visual, and producing the PDFs and private share links the contractor sends to the homeowner.
Share links are unguessable and are only meant for the homeowner the contractor sends them to. When a homeowner opens a shared report we log the visit the same way we log any page view (page, hashed IP, country, browser type) so the contractor can see the report was viewed.
Service providers that process data for us
We use a small number of providers to run the service. Each one only receives what it needs for its job:
- Supabase hosts our database, authentication and file storage, including uploaded photos and generated PDFs.
- Vercel hosts the website and app and provides the analytics described above.
- Replicate runs the AI image models behind the before/after visualizer and photo analysis. Property photos are sent to Replicate to produce the visual and are not used by us to train models.
- Anthropic provides the language model that writes the inspection report from the rep’s photos, notes and measurements.
- Google Maps Platform and Mapbox provide address search, aerial imagery and roof data for the address being quoted.
- ATTOM and public weather sources provide property records and local weather history used in reports.
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with advertisers.
How long we keep things
Customer and homeowner data is kept for as long as the contractor’s account is active so reps can return to past jobs. When a customer closes their account we delete their company’s data, including photos and reports, within 30 days, except for records we must keep for tax, billing or legal reasons. Shared report links stop working once the underlying data is deleted.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by emailing jordan@wediorknot.com. If you are a homeowner whose information a contractor entered, we will pass your request to that contractor and help them fulfil it. Residents of states with privacy laws such as California have the rights those laws give them, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them; we honor those rights for everyone.
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. The app is a business tool for contractors.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our hosting providers. Access inside the app is enforced by row-level permissions so each rep sees only their company’s data, and admin functions require an approved admin account. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your data we will tell you and the affected contractor without undue delay.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, for material changes, email customer admins. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
